Oh Peorth, what a tease. She’s lying in Keiichi’s bed doing her best to wake him up. By “wake up,” what we mean is something rather suggestive. Skuld catches them in the act and decides to bombard them with her explosive devices. Peorth taunts the younger goddess and disarms her bombs, saying that she’s a useless goddess that will never be able to fulfill wishes. Peorth says that she’ll continue this later when less annoying people are around. Skuld bursts into flames and says that even she can fulfill wishes.
Skuld becomes scarred for life!
Outside, Urd tells Peorth that what she’s doing is useless, but Peorth just remains smug and says that she’s doing her duty… which a second-class goddess wouldn’t understand. Does that burn, Urd? Ouch. Now with both Urd and Skuld mad at Peorth, you’re sure the fur is going to fly. So now they’re having a match to determine who is the most helpful goddess. Unfortunately, Keiichi’s going to be the judge of all this.
With three goddesses demanding wishes from him, Belldandy tries to intervene but just ends up being taunted by Peorth who says that if she were capable, she would have already fulfilled Keiichi’s wish. K-1 tries to get out of it by saying he has to go to class… whoops. All three goddesses try to transport him to class… at the same time. And now they all run off to Nekomi to intercept Keiichi and to grant more wishes. Peorth tells Bell to just stay behind because she’s useless and just bothering Keiichi. Peorth continues by saying that she’s always hated hypocrites like Bell. Wow, who is the self-absorbed one here, Peorth or Bell? Yah…
Down at the university, Keiichi has been transported on top of one of the campus statues and falls off it, landing in the fountain. Sora runs off to get him a hot drink as he complains that he’s cold. Bad move, Keiichi. The three scheming goddesses unleash their powers and try to make him warmer. Unfortunately, they start separating various students from their sweaters and Keiichi is soon covered in sweaters. After Keiichi frees himself, he realizes that he hasn’t seen Belldandy and wonders what he can do to make her not worry. When Sora comes back, a gust of wind blows at her skirt, rather enticing Keiichi. Naturally, the three goddesses try to… um, give Keiichi his wish to see more of “such things,” they overdo it and Keiichi begins turning into the wind (as absurd as that sounds).
Urd makes a weird joke about “Gone with the Wind,” making light of this dangerous situation. Apparently all the magic of the three goddesses mixed together and instead of powering up the wind, they turned Keiichi into the wind… perhaps permanently. Urd says he can look under however many skirts he wants now, though. Peorth apparently can’t do anything to resolve the situation… but Belldandy senses the danger and runs to the rescue. She senses Keiichi and calls out to him, bringing him out of the wind and back to normal. Ouch, looks like someone else was more useful. Hey, Bell’s the expert and wind magic, though I suppose even pulling K-1 out of the wind itself is rather hard.
The windy goddess.
Urd says that they’ve all lost and decides to go home. She apologizes for letting the other goddesses get out of hand, but Keiichi says that it’s okay and she came for him anyway. He says that she always takes care of him and he can’t do anything for her. Cue typical Belldandy “I want to make you happy” line. Of course, Peorth doesn’t get the point and decides to take some more drastic measures.
Keiichi comes back home and it seems all is well… but Peorth can’t stand the sappiness and the apparently satisfied look on Keiichi’s face from a simplistic middle-school-esque relationship. From her point of view, she has to tear him over to love only Peorth. Oh well, let the fur fly…
Peorth sneaks into Urd’s room and examines the collection of medicines and finds the Seeds of Love. She “improves” it so that it will make the victim love only Peorth. As Belldandy sings “Cleaning is so fun,” Peorth comes by and asks if she’s fulfilled Keiichi’s wish yet, taunting her by asking what Belldandy ahs done so far, and that she’s really hasn’t fulfilled any of Keiichi’s wishes. Well, I have to ask if Peorth really knows what Keiichi’s desires are. It’s not like he lusts after Belldandy, right?
Anyway, Peorth shows up with a drink for Keiichi, who refuses to drink until she’s done whining. The spiked beverage rapidly takes effect and he falls asleep. As Peorth lets the stuff take effect, Belldandy ponders he role in fulfilling all of Keiichi’s wishes, not because of duty, but because of her desires. Back with K-1, Megumi has come by to see the photos he took last episode and wakes up Keiichi. As he looks at her, Megumi seems to go into a trance and confesses her love for her brother. Keiichi hopes it’s sibling love she’s talking about, but it appears that’s not the case… Okay, Peorth, it seems that you’re going to be the cause of some incestuous hentai here. Skuld comes up to complain of all the noise and also falls into the trance and begins pawing at Keiichi, singing praises of the clothes he never changes… With two girls in hot pursuit, Keiichi unfortunately bumps into Peorth, who begins embracing him with all four appendages.
Ruh-roh! MO-restation!
Meanwhile, Urd is taking inventory of her medicines and hears the commotion. She also almost falls into the trance as well and asks Keiichi to look the other way. Urd explains that Peorth probably modified her Seed of Love and accidentally made it into a drug that makes people fall in love at first sight with the user. Belldandy comes in and Keiichi looks away but accidentally looks at Urd… so now it’s four goddesses pawing at “poor Keiichi.” Hey, he got his birthright as an anime male to have a harem.
While the four love-addled ladies are bickering, Keiichi tries to avoid looking at Bell because the drug will make Belldandy act strangely again. As he runs away, she runs over and grabs him and asks if it’s painful to look at her face because she wants to be by his side. Oh boy, teary scene again! She continues saying that she wants to be with him of her own free will and fulfill all his wishes… just not yet (no Belldandy booty just yet). And so Keiichi does the usual “oh, you’re here so my wish is fulfilled” bit. Even though he looks at her, nothing happens, and they embrace, showering everyone with the warm light from Belldandy, which apparently cures everyone of their derangement.
Peorth tries to sneak off; after all, she’s the cause of everyone going berserk for Keiichi. Urd catches our sneaky goddess friend and decides to deal out some punishment after Peorth accidentally confesses to her crimes. After all, first-class goddesses can’t lie. That evening, Belldandy is exhausted and has fallen asleep again. Urd and Skuld join Keiichi for tea outside under the setting sun. Keiichi asks why Bell wasn’t affected by the drug and Urd says that her medicines wouldn’t do anything as crude as to screw up a perfect match. Now, Peorth is also outside, confessing her feelings to a tanuki statue… Looks like Urd fed Peorth some kind of drug. Karma is a pain, eh?
Certainly serves her right!
Another relatively Skuld-free episode, so happiness abounds. This episode wasn’t half bad but I think the sappiness is getting on my nerves a bit. While it doesn’t look too bad in a monthly manga format, this is starting to wear a bit thin in an animated format. Skuld’s coming across more and more whiny than I remember too. Ah well, at least Urd is still uber-cool as always. Should’ve just given Urd her own spinoff series…
